Rebeca Jones
I have worked with Amazon as a graphic designer since 2001. As an employee, I worked in Marketing and PR interfacing with the varied business within Amazon. Then in 2005, I began my freelance experience which has enabled me to be a continued valuable design resource for Amazon. My ability to be nimble and succeed in ambiguity has been an asset in my work with Amazon over the years.
While I’ve peppered in a few non-Amazon projects in this list for variety, the majority are Amazon-focused. Please email me with any questions or inquiries.
Please note: this page is confidential to Amazon employees only.
I have a deep and rich history working with Amazon.com internally and in a freelance capacity supporting many aspects of the business through varied design work.
Case Studies
Amazon Broadcast
Amazon Broadcast is the deep and robust internal video streaming tool for Amazon employees.
The Challenge: The Broadcast team wanted to improve engagement and discoverability.
The Solution: I worked closely with the Broadcast team to successfully elevate the Broadcast visual design and user experience from both a viewer and video owner perspective. I delivered a high volume of prototypes for complex user flows and deeply investigated options for archiving and transferring videos as well as other aspirational experiences.
My Impact: The redesign I delivered was an integral part of the modernization of Broadcast UI to become much more accessible during 2018. The video page I designed now offers multiple levels of engagement from streamlining and surfacing comments, transcriptions, flags, ratings, feedback and more. I also provided an in-depth design guide for this project.

Roq La Rue
Roq La Rue has been the cutting edge contemporary art gallery in the Pacific Northwest for over two decades and has been a pioneer and leader in the Pop Surrealism, Lowbrow, and New Contemporary genres.
The Challenge: The website design and user experience was out of date and did not accurately reflect this long-established, genre-defining Seattle gallery. Updating the site for every opening was a difficult process for the client and the site was not mobile-friendly.
The Solution: The website design now complements the physical gallery space and prioritizes showcasing the art. Users can now more easily explore current and past exhibitions as well as available inventory on desktop and mobile. I established image organization and monthly show update systems for the client.
My Impact: The website I designed is now as elevated as the in-person gallery experience resulting in higher user engagement and is a useable tool for the client. The client can now interface with collectors in a more streamlined way and easily make monthly updates.

Amazon Gift-wrap
The Challenge: The Amazon.com checkout process had a pipeline of five-pages from cart to checkout that included a step to purchase gift-wrap that interrupted every purchase experience.
The Solution: I identified key areas to surface opportunities to purchase gift wrap while the user is in the flow of the shopping experience rather than being disrupting the checkout experience. I quickly iterated high-fidelity mock ups that were able to be tested and implemented in a short amount of time.
My Impact: The gift-wrap experience I designed helped streamline the checkout process and is still being used today.

Amazon ITTO
ITTO is the premiere OPS tool for gathering the most up-to-date and verified data across multiple systems to produce reliably accurate baseline results for inbound and out bound shipping models from user designated parameters. Users can create scenarios to create and compare predictive data to make more informed business decisions.
The Challenge: Build UX for a deep and complex self-service modeling system for hundreds of OPS users for connected air and ground transportation and sort centers.
The Solution: I was engaged at the beginning of this effort working with scientists, engineers, and the TPM in high levels of ambiguity while nimbly navigating changes in priorities and target audiences. I delivered multiple deep-dive prototypes by rapidly iterating from the feedback from the team in an Agile environment.
My Impact: The system was delivered on time with the UX I designed being robust enough to grow through several additions of functionality over the last year.

Northwest Kidney Centers
Founded in Seattle in 1962, Northwest Kidney Centers is the world’s first dialysis organization serving over 1,800 patients (284,511 dialysis treatments per year). Northwest Kidney Centers promotes the optimal health, quality of life, and independence of people with kidney disease through patient care, education, and research.
The Challenge: I identified that newsletter design standards were not taking accessibility into account. This affects 79% of readership with a patient average age of 62.
The Solution: While keeping the bones of the established design, I updated the styling as well as increased font sizes and contrast throughout the newsletter to be user-friendly for an older audience. I also ensured important contact information or reference call-out items were in a consistent location for each newsletter.
My Impact: Despite these being subtle changes, feedback has been favorable.
Amazon Wiki
Amazon Wiki is the primary product for Amazon employees in sharing information in regard to documenting projects and more.
The Challenge: Wiki was in need of UX solutions for a critical new feature as well as improving the WikiHelp experience.
The Solution: I quickly produced a viable solution for the integral Page Move (Modify) feature as well as redesigning the Help page and how users access user guides. I provided prototypes for multiple improvement areas within Wiki including page creation, as well as multiple UX solutions to reduce trouble tickets.
My Impact: The Page Move (Modify) feature was able to be delivered on time, and the WikiHelp and User Guide sections now offer more clarity and ease in finding relevant information quickly.

Amazon Internal Search
Amazon Internal Search is the gateway to searching across all internal products for Amazon employees.
The Challenge: Relevant content is being missed or ignored by users due to not being surfaced high enough in search results.
The Solution: Using project requirements and user stories, I provided mockups that reflected the maturity of the project phase. I designed a viable UX solution to surface content that didn’t overwhelm the user thus allowing relevant search results to be surfaced higher on the page. My designs also included solutions for property specific search experiences as well as a robust filtering system that gave context to the expansive vision document.
The Impact: Due to my ability to iterate quickly, the team was able to move fast and meet their goals for this vision project.
